Windshields

The windshield of almost all cars and trucks are made out of two
curved sheets of glass, with a layer of tough plastic laminate between
them. The plastic laminate serves to hold the two layers of glass
together in the event of accident. It also keeps shards of glass from
flying and puncturing passengers should an impact, such as falling
rock, occur.

Must be an incredible looking kit - most of mine are just one layer of clear
plastic. :^)

I remember as a kid when ALL of the windows in my dad's '49 Merc had
safety glass. By the time I was driving my own car, it became just the
windshield, with tempered glass for the rest. Price never seemed to
come down however.....
