Hi

Figure modelers how do you mask vinyl kits prior to paint?
I have Horizon terminator T2 primed and ready to go but I wonder what
you use to mask as you spray paint?
I usually do 1/35 tanks and jets and I am a little lost here on what
to use for masking medium.

Thanks a lot

You can't use anything that is adhesive.  It will pull off bits of
whatever paint or primer you had already applied on the vinyl.
Perhaps one way to mask is to use damp tissue paper that has a dilute
solution of white glue (to hold the tissue shape not stick to the
model) and wrap around the area to be masked.  Hold the tissue in
place with elastic bands and let it dry.  Then do your airbrush
painting.  If the tissue sticks to the model after painting, soak to
"dissolve" the tissue (and white glue residue.)

I have used both liquid latex,"mold builder" you can find this any
arts and craft supply stores. I also use 3m blue masking tape I use
this on all my vinyl kits. I have also used the latex.
