anyone have the cockpit glass from a testor's ju 188 they could trade, sell,

wanted some also.
i had hoped to mod a matchbox one, but that was a no go.

Looky what I found: http://www.squadron.com/ItemDetails.asp?item=SQ9170
Why replace it when you can improve on it for under $4.00?

Yup, and they are both the same as the Italeri one.

With all the glass area on the vacuformed canopy, you now have a good
reason to superdetail the cockpit, as it should be quite visible.

Possibly the Testors kit is the same.  I once had the Revell/Italeri
version and may have the instructions & box art scanned.  I'll have to
check.

Yeah, all three (Testors, Revell, Italeri) are the same kit.

Since I don't have the box art (didn't check instructions) I'm glad to
have the confirmation.

I found that over here: http://www.geocities.com/hjunkers/ju_kit5a.htm
Which is a lot of fun to read.
The Matchbox one didn't even include the transparent windows for the
ventral gunner position, which really sucked.
I never even finished mine because of that.

Just checked the paper inventory and I have the kit number listed as
H-2010.  That's one of the largest H- numbers I've ever seen.  IIRC, the
rocket & missile kits were in the H-18xx series.

where's the h number, bill? mine has a 40109 on the end flaps, it's dated 1989
and has a small circle on the front that sez, der grune punkt. the green
point? i don't get it.
the plastic colors are gray, green and light gray. flap ended, one piece box.
the ventral gun position is filled in, solid with lines so no glass or gun. it
has the frame outline so it could be cut out and scratched but what a rip!

Green range.
They divided their kits up into color series based on cost and size:

This is odd, because yours should be red range, unless they changed it
for export to Germany.
Mine was in green, brown, and mustard yellow.

I think you are supposed to paint the windows gloss black and pretend
they are transparent.
