thought this was confirmed that the boats did not have big numbers on
the bow....
saw this aviation art I was thinking of buying, and there it is
again, big 109 on the bow...

Call it dramatic license. The artist just put that on the bow to add
more interest in the painting. If he didn't put it on, it would just be
another PT boat, and not a famous one.
