It couldn't be more anachronistic than the movie "Pearl Harbor".

What was the name of that movie where a modern US Navy aircraft carrier
goes through a time warp and finds itself in the Pacific on December
7th, 1941?

the premise was so old and hacknyed i didn't bother.
i've read too much scifi. so it's very hard to attract my attention.
most of this stuff i could have written in my sleep.
what made this one stand out?

Actually, the F-14s taking on the Zeros was fun to watch.

I'll bet one of those Aegis-class destroyers that were at Pearl Harbor
could have blown those pterodactyls right out of the sky with its
Phalanx gun system and Standard missiles. :-)

Will this be down to sci-fi channels usual high standards? Perhaps
with the amazing accuracy of History channel thrown in?
For that matter, I wouldn't be surprised to see it on History channel,
in a triple feature with Pearl Harbor and Midway, between repeats of Ax-
men, Ice Road Truckers, and the latest breakthroughs in the search for
bigfoot ;)

I actually like midway, but to an airplane buff like me, it's a mess.
I saw it in the theater, complete with sensaround.

oh yeah, but to a 10 year old boy, the SciFi channel monster movies
are the best ever.   Can we add "The Longest Day" to your list?  Way
too hard to listen to 3 hours of speeches. Love the scenes on the
beach where there are roughly 100 soldiers on the beach. Also about
4995 ships short of the 5000 used in the invasion.

Hey, now, IRT and Axmen is interesting. I have to say,
however, that Ax is very disappointing when it comes down to
the creativity of their swearing. Perhaps there is something
to be said for a 5th grade education...

But, in all seriousness, I have noticed that the milk I
buy is no longer in plastic, but back in cardboard. Apparently
it is cheaper to make cardboard containers than plastic ones.
Which is fine with me, I would prefer my milk avoid as much
light as possible. My beer, too...

I dunno. I KNOW I sent a lot of 8' flourescent tubes to
the landfill/dump, each with that special drop of mercury.
I always smile when I hear the greenies promoting the use of
   flourescent bulbs... :-)

But, yeah, I expect there are some real "treasures" in
the old landfilles/dumps. Question is, what do you do with
the rest of the stuff? A quick way to end this scheme is to
make the "miners" responsible for safely disposing of the
   "not so wonderful" bits.

Being an older phart who attended some of the local Love Canal
hearings and watched some of the rest on TV back in the day, I
remember how ALL the hearings were open and public - that is until one
really old timer got up and testified before thne hearing chairman on
how he, as a kid during WW 2, saw some guys "in uniform" dumping
55gal. drums into the canal and driving away.
Immediatley the session was closed, cameras turn off and the rest of
the hearings done privately.
I often wondered what that guy saw. Chemicals from nerve gas
production? Lots of chemical companies were in that area back then.
Radioactives from the Manhatten Project? We HAVE some of those buried
not too far from Love Canal in another township and radioactives WERE
used in a local steel mill - without informing the laborers. Or maybe
something else entirely; the question is what? I guess we'll never
know.

The Haunted Tank was in Weird War Tales and G.I. Tales; the Dinosaurs in
Star-Spangled War Stories.
Here, The Haunted Tank takes out Tiger Is with its 37mm cannon:

DC tanks had to fight dinosaurs _ a lot_; a Triceratops:

...and a T-Rex:

(seems they were upgraded to a Sherman by now, I wonder if that means
they get a new ghost also?)
Whoops, here comes the Pterodactyls again, and they brought a Mosasaur
along to help: http://www.empirecollectibles.com/ssw115.jpg
These things just cry out to be made into dioramas. :-D

The Sci-Fi Channel doesn't actually seem to be able to do scence-fiction
movies well at all.

I don't think they try too hard intentionally.   There has to be a
place for B movies, and SciFi is the place. These movies are
important to the art. You have to have women always failling down when
being chased, you are required to stop and look back when being
chased, you are required to enter a dark room alone and without
turning the light on... that is what makes them fun....oh and don't
forget the braless girls in t-shirts too.  A little something for
everyone.

I have another diorama idea which features a Zero. I have a book on
the Pearl Harbor attack.  There was an incident for which no photo is
available, but someone did a drawing of.  An element of Zeros strafed
Honululu airport and a Hawaian Airlines DC-3 loading passengers at the
terminal.

Another fascinating thing about the attack, which was verified as
true, was that the first Zero started a fire in the DC-3 cockpit, but
the second Zero, also strafing the front of the plane, hit a CO2
extinquisher, which then put the fire out!

I am intending to do the diorama in 1:144 so it will not be too big.

Now, where could they have gotten a idea like that from?:
