Isn't that a retro-Revell display base on the Flying Sub?:

And, of course, what would look better on your display stand for it than
this?:

It is pretty nice. Got mine yesterday. A couple of other nits to add to
the review:
- The louvers on the engine tubes were done with a mold insert, leaving a
seam and slight step that has to be addressed
- There is no ceiling for the control room so you can see above the walls
into the big empty hull. There wasn't a ceiling in the real set either
because that's where the set lights were, so no one knows what it would have
looked like, but the kit should have had one.
- Think they should have included interior walls for the FS. Given the
excellence of the control room walls, this seems a bit odd.
Overall though, a very impressive kit!

Here's a nifty piece of trivia.
Where did the TV Seaview's computer come from?
It's the computer Katherine Hepburn and her crew of female data-finders
were scared shitless of when Spencer Tracy brought it into their office
in the movie "Desk Set": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050307/
Very, very, good and funny movie.
Nowadays, drinking more than a single light beer per day is risky.
If you see that movie, keep track of how much the two of them down in
total at the New Year's Party.... because they attach themselves to
those champagne bottles like lampreys to codfish. :-D
