Read the Wikipedia article. The Tamiya kit is of a 'toaster tank' /5
('Slash 5') model, with the big chrome panels on the sides, introduced
in 1972. There was the late /5 production of a 'LWB' (long wheelbase)
model with the drive shaft housing shown in one of the Wiki photos.
Finally, the /6 was introduced for 1974. So the kit is a '72, or '73
SWB, or '73½ LWB model. Not that anyone but a /5 fanatic could tell
the difference among them.

As an addendum, the Tamiya R75/5 Police version has a tank that
appears to be correct for the '70 and '71 R75/5. So, if you are
building one for somebody with one of the earlier bikes, you may need
to look for a 'parts kit' for the tank.
Good luck. I can tell you a lot more about the various smaller scale
R100s ...

or look in walneck's classic cycle trader for one of the 100's of parts
places. could be a lot cheaper.
