...already got one of those, too...and angling to one of the new DML ones.

Which reminds me I've got an itch to start my 1/32 Beaufighter.

what model and markings? did you get every accessory possible?
that is one cool airplane. whispering death, indeed.

It's the special release Revell of Mexico one, as I recall...includes
some etch, vac canopies, and Cartograph decals for a Coastal Command
plane...I also have a 1/48 Tamiya and I think they're models of the same
plane.

Anyway, that's the idea I have in my head - Coastal Command markings;
sea blues and invasion stripes (torpedoes?..) - and a lot of scratch
building.  Thinking I may use some of the 1/48 parts I have for patterns
- scan them, blow them up, replicate in plastic sheet.  I'll do complete
photo-doc of the build.

...if I can put my guitars down...I'm going out to see some of the guys
I used to play with at the bar with their latest band.  And I'm heading
south tomorrow with a guy I jam with to hit the shops - he says he's got
a recording of a 45 minute free jam he caught me doing without me
knowing it that I have to hear.  Once I get the .wav  files and edit
something down I'll shoot you anything tasty in an .mp3 sample.

check it out, you might find some old friends there.

I'll keep it in mind - I haven't heard any of it as of yet...

...but here's a taste:

...neither one of us actually know the song...we're just improving.

...and one where we're just making it up as we go...after an amount of
red wine...

Both of these were caught using a compact pocket camera - sound too.

...we were pretty much just making it up as we went along...I just got
back from the LA trip and have a thumb drive full of the stuff Jim
captured without my knowing it.  I'm sort of amazed at myself right
now...I don't recall playing most of it, but it sure sounds like me
alright.  When I get the good spots edited down I'll pass you some .mp3
off group.

Some of it's bluesy, but some of the best stuff is of me demoing a Carl
Martin multi-pedal that's in more of a psychodelica/stoner vein.  Again
- just making it up as I go along.  Shocked at myself...

I have to be careful with Chinese - I get MSG reactions...it's sort of
odd, like I dry out after a few years of not eating it, then once I
start again I'm ok for a few meals...then - BLAM.  And some of the "MSG
free" places don't always tell me the truth.
