Moskit went OOB some years ago because the eco-nazis shut them down...at
least that is what I've heard.

Some shops still have a few items left on the shelves but we're
basically down to scraping the bottom on that fine product line.

Here's a few places that are still listing some Moskit items - search
these to see what they have remaining:

why, did they make mercury resin or some sillyness?

I'm not really sure - all I know is that someone at one of my club
meetings said they'd been shut down for "environmental impact" reasons
because of the process used to make the metal exhausts.  Probably some
chemical they used to remove the cores after sintering...but that's a
guess.

If I were going to make these things, I'd spray or vapor deposit
powdered metal onto a core - like of jeweler's investment - and then
sinter them at high heat until the metal fused.

Then you plop the whole layup into water (or some chemical bath?) and
the investment dissolves, leaving the hollow metal part.

...anyway, there's any number of things involved in a process like that
that could send eco-pol kicking your door in.

Being in the UK and therefore civilised, we don't have a need for guns,
though I know that lead is being banned from shotgun pellets

...us damnyankees in our right minds love ours, too.  Mine have followed
me from Ohio to Texas to the high Mojave...wouldn't be without them.

BTW - I only passed through Heathrow on my way to Stockholm, but I did
enjoy the pause...hope I can get back and nose about a bit more sometime
in the future.

Actually one of the things that impressed me about Stonehenge besides
the size of the *rocks* that make it up, is just how small the stone
circle really is. Don't know how or why, but pictures of it make it seem
much bigger than it really is.

Now for really impressive (to me at least) is the ramp at Masada...

...I've even got s newer theory - I went looking for some stuff on
plasma physics the other day, and found a depiction of the plasma
surrounding the earth as it travels thought space...the profile at the
north pole is like a shock wave...which makes sense, given that the
speed of sound in open interstellar space is pretty low...

...so I got to thinking - gas to plasma though
ionization...hmmnnn...heat breaks bonds, ionizes gas, energy transfers
into free space...ozone hole...big ozone hole at the top of the world,
feeding the plasma...and transferring energy...

...postulation?  The eco-nuts are responsible for "global warming"
because they meddled around to reduce the size of the ozone hole - which
probably helps regulate climate by increasing in size to halt
excessive warming...

See - I can make up crap too...but it's still all crap, other than that
the planet can take care of itself and nobody really knows what the hell
they're doing or talking about.  In the meantime, shoot me a spotted owl
and chop me some firewood - I'm hungry.

I was just commenting elsewhere on how polar bear might taste, seeing as
how I've had bear meat at a restaurant in Finland and found it quite tasty.

we like southern-fried tourists, they wander and get lost in the heat.
if you get them before they rot, they're great with egg wash, flouring and
a nice fry until golden brown.

...now I have passed up snapping turtle, but I got around to goat once
and it was better than I though it would be.

The bear I had was sort of dine up like a beef Wellington - in sort of a
pastry.  It was a little greasy as I recall, and fell apart...very
tender.  The accompanying reindeer kabobs were excellent!

i have a 66 yr1 yamaha. it's a 350 twin and considered a pioneer crotch
rocket.  5 speeds and lots of omph.
i have owned an s3, h1 and h2. the first year production h2 is the scariest
bike ever.
you can do a quarter mile drag on the rear wheel easily. 0 to 120 in about
2 seconds.  puts out over 75 horse stock and weighs about as much as an
anorexic school girl.
i exxagerate a little, but not much. if you pull the baffles out of each
muffler, it sounds like sooperman tearing steel sheets like paper sheets.
i will find pics of my yr1. i have h2 pictures but not here.

It's that green stuff that covers the ground everywhere in summer round
here. Matter of fact, at the hight of Spring/Summer here, if it's not
man made, or a road or building, it's green and no other color except
for tree trunks, and branches on said trees and bushes.

I did notice driving cross country last summer, that after crossing the
Missouri river, ya all out there do not know what a proper tree is.
Big bushes and wimpy pine trees, but no Oaks, Birch, Elm, Walnut, or
Maple trees. Just really big bushes...

I did learn what Big Sky country was after being in Wyoming, Montana,
Idaho and the like. I did love that ! (what amateur astronomer wouldn't)

Fortunately, I immediately went and bought a set for every 1/48 and 1/32
scale kit in my stash that they made sets for at the time...very
impressive little items, those.

...and no - I'm not selling off any of them!

i think hobby town in vegas has some bits in their cases. go left when you
enter and at the back wall, look in the cases. just remember that was last
week and it may be gone. that store has a lot of 3rd party and is quite good
for a chain.
