I have been searching for 1978 Trans Am model kits and diecast cars,
and also 77 and 79, and they are ALL made in either black or silver,
except for a few 1/64 scale ones, and I don't want one that small. The
problem is that you can't simply paint it gold, because you need a
hood decal (the big eagle) that matches the paint color. I am an
artist and I could try to paint the eagle freehand, but I'm not sure
that would turn out precise enough to look good. I think silver is a
lame color for a Trans Am and black has some merit but not much. Gold
is awesome for a 1978 Trans Am. I wish someone would make a large kit,
bigger than 1/18, of this car and include gold decals, or even better,
include decals of several colors so that people can choose.

The "screaming chicken" has been available in some kits. It should be a simple
matter to copy one and make a decal. Being an artist you should be able to do
it in any color you want with a program such as Photoshop. I don't know about
the large scale, you might try here:

Have ya tried Evilbay?

I dont know for sure but there are aftermarket car decal from companies like
SLIXX and Fred Cady. They may have the Screamin Chicken in the color you
need.
Cheers,

Although I have to disagree with you on color choices. A gold Trans Am
in 1978 was very nice. 78 S/E's (Y-88 cars) were the top choice that
year. You can buy model kits in 1/24/25 scale and diecast in 1/18.
Model's are done by AMT/Ertl(also in 1/18, gold will be coming soon)
(Smokey and the Bandit version) and by Revell, their 3 n 1 kit. Bird
colors can be purchased from Keith Marks out of Canada. He has all
styles and colors. His username on ebay is kmarks999.
His decals are very precise. They are also thin and delicate, but the
results are amazing.

Well I saw a diecast white Trans Am recently and I think it looks
pretty good, my 2nd choice after gold. I found a gold diecast trans am
too.
