I have a mint box camaro kit. The box is perfect and the wrapping is
still on.
The side panal is seperated but has not been ripped. I would like to
know how much this kit is worth. Thanks.

Hi Dan,
Since the Camaro was not produced by Chevrolet until the 1967 model year,
this must be quite a rare one! I have never seen the 1966 issue kit.
Wonder if it has the date on the license plate as 1966 or 1967? I have seen
built up 1967's selling on ebay for around $50 or so, unbuilt examples with
wrapper should be well over $100. And the SS kit is not to be confused with
the newer 1967 Z-28 kit, which is worth much less since it has been
re-issued every 5 years or so since it was first released.

It wouldn't take long to find out if you put it on eBay.....

Dan,
Are you quite sure that's a 1966 Camaro? No model kit was ever made of a 1966
Camaro, since Chevrolet didn't introduce the Camaro until 1967!
AMT made two distinctly different 1967 Camaro's. Their first kits were in
1967, as HT and convertible kits. These kits were NEVER wrapped in anything by
AMT, as AMT did not start shrinkwrapping (or any other sort of machine wrapping
for another couple of years--the kit boxes were merely sealed with scotch tape.
AMT's second 1967 Camaro was a so-so revamping of a '68 Z/28 they tooled in
1980. It's not an old kit, the newer '67 having been done about 3-4 years
ago--they still show up at hobby shops for about $10-$11, less than that at
shows and swap meets.

I'll have to check my records but I'm thinking that number is for a
'68. '61' would be the body style number and the 6 and 8 stand for the
year.

Instead of a fat finger error I had a fat eye error. It is a 1968
convertable kit. sorry for the confusion.
