How is it doing lately in terms of sales?
I know model rockets have gone way downhill.
Sav-Ons used to have plastic scale model kits and balsa airplane kits
when I was a kid in the 70's but they don't anymore.
Back then the public didn't have internet or computers and I guess
fewer people had cable.

What makes you say model rockets are way down? We sell more (in my shop) than
we ever did. Everything from 1/2A to E motors are out there in hobby shops. The
high powered motors "F" class and up are also readily available as are
magazines dedicated to the hobby. There is also a very much larger selection of
kits and engine sizes available. Schools still do these for science classes as
do scouts. Search the internet and check out Tripoli for an idea of groups
doing this.

Plastics is doing quite well. We have probably never had such an immense
selection of kits and accessories available. Quality and the amount of detail
is certainly better than ever.
