Does anyone know what 'nogaline' is and where to buy it and if there
is an alternative please? I believe it is some type of paint or
coating used on model wooden ships. My brother in law has had a model ship
to
build for some years now and needs this 'nogaline' according to the
instructions but has not
been able to track it down! Therefore it is still in the box!! None of the
many model shops he has been to have even heard of it! :O(
Any help, information or advice would be very welcome!
Many thanks

Checked the web and found one hit.  It is a brown pigment.  A kind of dark
brown stain.

brown coal, Ruben's brown, soluble vandyke brown ·

Take it from an experienced ship modeler.  Nothing, especially paint or
pigment, is that critical.   You're finishing something made out of wood.
Ordinary wood finishing supplies can do the trick.  As for pigments, the
analine dies are excellent (and expensive) -- but for most purposes, the
Minwax stains are just fine.
Direct him to the ship modeling FAQ for suggestions, supplies,
URL's, etc.

I know what nogaline is, It is a wood stain (walnut stain). I guess it isnt
called nogaline outside of Spain . I am after the stuff as well to do HMS
Pandora. Go on google and just write "Minwax" This company makes wood stains.
Write  "walnut stain"  when you get on the Minwax page. That's the stuff you
want
