Steve Faxon - 19 Sep 2004 02:10 GMT Koster did a XP-47J and Airmodel did the XP-47H, both are vac formed conversions. But didn't I see one of these done as a injection molded kit? I am thinking it was the XP-47H in a short run or limited edition? Maybe I'm mixing it up with a 1/72 kit? Anyone out there able to help me out ? Thanks
Ron - 19 Sep 2004 03:27 GMT There was a limited run, 1/48 version done in dark brown styrene. I don't know who made it but I have one buried somewhere.....no it's not on the for sale list.

I find it a fun kit if one doesn't mind that it's not a shake-the-box type. It's currently sitting downstairs awaiting the return of my attentions.

Okay, they're posted to abms--only the first file in the thread seems to have the images; the other six have rafts and rafts of jumbled characters. I'm also going to have to figure out how to resize images before I post them in ther future, as these (coming off of a 3.2 megapixel camera) are obnviously way too big.

Which image software are you using? In most of them is an option to resize the image, and convert it to the popular formats (jpeg, gif, tiff, etc)

I have Photoshop Elements, which I have just begun to use--I imagine it has some resizing features. The images are starting out as jpgs, and I do have software that will covert to gif, tiff or pict, but jpg ought to work for my purposes.

It's not to late with digital pictures as long as you keep the original files safe and only play with copies :)
Jpeg seems to be the best compromise between picture quality and file size.

Mad-Modeller - 29 Sep 2004 04:20 GMT I'm still trying to figure how to shrink a .bmp. I didn't want to save the pic that way as most of my pics are jpegs but I must have hit the button before I realised where the cursor was pointed. Good ol' Microshit again. :(

Good ol' Microshit again. :( Bitmaps are notoriously huge. If you still have the original file, you could try it again. If you only have the bitmap, you could try converting it into one of the other formats...

Chek - 19 Sep 2004 10:57 GMT Apart from MPM's nice little 1/72 scale kit (ideal for cross-kitting with a Academy or new Revell wings, u/c etc.), there are the 1/48 H and J announced by Accurate Miniatures due sometime.
