Hasegawa 1/48th F-18 Online Reviews?

I've got a Hasegawa F-18 kit on the way, and surprisingly, I haven't
been able to find an online kit review. This is for the F-18A or C
(I'm not sure which, a friend is "donating" it). I've checked my
favorites (ARC, Modeling Madness, Hyperscale) and have come up with
pretty much a blank.
 Any suggestions?

HmmnnnI can't find any either, but I have both the C and the D kits from
Hasegawa and I can attest that they are without question the finest kits
of the Hornet released to date.  Seperate poseable surfaces, nice
engraved, panel lines...short on ordnance, though.  The only complaint.

I hope you end up with the C one - it has all the parts you need to
build and early or later Lot C, or an A with a bit of work; mostly on
the tails.  I'd suggest buying a resin ejection seat - the True Details
ones are just fine, and cheap.  Other that and a set of decals of your
choosing it will build into a fine model right out of the box, IMO.

Have fun building it.

I've always heard good things about Hasegawa's F-18s, I've got one of
the old Monogram kits started (years ago!), I just never finished it.
I know there's a ton of aftermarket stuff available for these kits
too. Should be fun. Might have to order some decals from Two Bobs...
If I get the right kit, I think a gunship gray Malaysian example would
look too cool.

I have yet to  see anyone do one of the Malaysian Hornets.  I know some
company has a set of decals out to do them all...there are only eight of
them.  Wish I could recall that decal sheet...anyway, I do know they are
overall FS 36118.  Quite an easy paintscheme.  Yes - they are cool looking.

Check Two-Bobs decals, http://www.twobos.net

For some reason Two-Bobs isn't letting my on their site right now.

Is this the sheet with both the "as delivered" and "corrected" Malaysian
national roundels?  That's the one I was thinking of, I just can't
recall who does/did it.  (There were a few screw-ups at the factory with
the initial paint on these jets...)

That's because it should be http://www.twobobs.net...

That's better...but I can't find any evidence that Two-Bobs ever
produced a set of decals for TUDM Hornets.

I think this is the set I was thinking of:

That's the one I was thinking of as well. The sheet isn't manufactured
by Two Bobs, it's imported by them. Just looked at the site, and
unfortunately it appears that Malaysia only bought two-seaters. 8-(
Oh, sorry about the "two bos.net."

Yes - that's correct.  Only D models, and only eight of them.

Interesting decal set, in that it captures both the "as delivered" paint
mistake in the roundels, and the correction applied by the Malaysians.
