I did. And I liked it. But I have an odd take on it. I'm not a "basement
of the science building, wait in line for a week to buy tickets type",
but I have read the 4 books and have and have seen all 4 movies and I
actually like all of them. I've never even seen the comic books and have
only seen a little of the Geiger illustrations. Canon for me is the
movies.

Basically it's as slickly done as any of the others. It doesn't have the
impact of the first movie (I still remember seeing it when it came out
and being scared poopless) but it has big ugly monsters the do mean ugly
things. It is consistent with the rest of the series and the cross
breeding with Predator. And I like the series, it's one of the few movies
where I look forward to other chapters in the story. The beasts represent
perfect evil, no negotiation, no quarter.

Pay your money, eat your popcorn and enjoy.

?Which movies? IIRC There's two Predator and three Alienz. And now of course
I've gotta enter "Alien v Predator" into my onboard database to fuzz things up
a bit more.

Yup.  It wasn't wasted though.  The movie was quite enjoyable if somewhat
unmemorable.  Like most summer fare, you gotta go into 'em expecting that.

Cool visuals, serviceable script, acceptable acting.  You might ask for
more, but you shouldn't insist.

why? i don't understand either comment. good writing is good
writing, hell she's even won a nova award, putting her in
the ranks of heilien, clarke, asimov...etc.
and the fact that they are aimed at younger readers doesn't
mean they can't have universal appeal.
the films are very well done. they even had a triumph
thunderbird pre unit twin in the first.
