Hello,
I just got a Lionel Trainmaster with my new K-Line Big boy for Christmas.
Being new to DCC I really don't know how this DCC system compares to other
systems. I have been looking for a good site on comparing DCC technologies
but there is so much out there to sort thru and it's really hard to tell
which one I should go with. I would welcome any comments you might have on
your experiences with DCC and Lionel's. Is one system more "compatible" or
"generalized" for cross DCC equipment? Is there any ones system which works
well across N, O, and HO scales? Also, is there any commercial software for
the Trainmaster unit? It would be great if I could find a few snippets of
source code which I could work with and write some of my own.
Thanks!

TrainMaster (tm) is not DCC compatible. It is a proprietary system that is
licensed to several O gauge manufacturers. It is not available in any other
scale.

Lionel TMCC is sort of open-source - the code is set out in the command
control manual furnished with the command base.

A rather fun web site about TMCC is http://www.coilcouplers.com/tmc/tmc.html.
It walks you through some of the TMCC fundamentals.
