Saw an ex-Southern Pacfic locomotive in
a double head with a UP loco. They were
hauling mixed freight east through north
central Ohio. This was over Memorial
Day weekend.

The ex-SP loco was all black. It was
number 918. It had no company name
or logo. All it had was HATX on the
side of the loco where the Southern
Pacific logo was painted over. (mostly)

So, who is HATX?

A simple google of "HATX" reveals that they are Helm Atlantic.  A very
quick perusal of few sites that come seems to indicate that they lease
locos.
