Their HO Chesapeake & Allegheny (also spelled Allegeny) was featured many times
in MR years ago, and their op sessions were detailed in a clinic at the Valley
Forge NMRA National by Frank Winner and me.

What's happening lately?

1.  The loop-to-loop-with-a-gimmic (John Armstrong's term) track plan has stood
the test of time.
2.  The monthly operating sessions were moved to the 3rd Friday (as in tonight)
about a decade ago.
3.  The operation sessions have been on-going for about 30 years and are great
fun.
4.  Twice a year, the sessions are all steam - summer 2004's is tonight.  Fewer
cars billed since model steamers just don't pull like diesels.
5.  The layout runs as good as it looks - sticking with DC.
6.  The signal system has been upgraded to LEDs.
7.  WE NEED MORE STAGING cry was answered a few years ago with four added
tracks off the hidden lower reverse loop.
8.  Switching on the layout is a lot of fun - and the industries switched look
beautiful thanks to Doc Holtgrewe.
9.  The moonshiner hillside between the Steel Mill and Nagel Steel has been
torn out for rebuilding to another switching/urban area.
10.  Doc Holtgrewe is back building model structures for the new area - he does
about one a week - and even his wife thinks he's better than ever - Logan spent
a few years building over 400 1/72 scale WW II aircraft models.
11.  Membership has hit the max of about 31.  The building is too small for a
larger membership.
12.  The accomplished modeler/bull sh.tter membership ratio is higher than it's
ever been.

Stop by any Thursday night you are in the Annapolis area.  Or any 3rd Friday
7-11:59 PM.  Expect to be asked to run on Fridays.
