I received an ad from kalmbach for Great Model Railroads 2005. One of their
selling points is a new, larger format for the magazine. I think it is a
negative selling point because it won't fit on the shelf with the previous 14
issues I have. It's a small thing, but it's keeping me from ordering the
magazine. I wonder what Kalmbach was thinking when they decided to change the
size of the magzine?

Ken,
Bigger better pictures and more snap shots. That's what it says on the MR
web site. It will have 16 more pages too. So that must be what we want.

Ken,
I'm with you buddy. I also get Sports Illustrated and I dislike it when
they send me these oversized, special edition, collectors issues.
These things do not fit in those cardboard magazine holders.
Unlike Kalmbach though, at least SI periodically sends these special edition
issues at no extra charge. With MR, all you get is 12 issues per year,
period.
