I have a Y6B with the new drive system that I bought right when they
came out back in the mid 90's.  Today I looked inside the engine at
the motor and noticed it is held onto the chasis weight with "tape".
Did all the reworked (new drive sytem) Y6B's have tape holding the
motor to the chasis weight?  Thanks, Sean

Mounting the motor with a flexible, non-metalic holder/adhesive is a
good way of isolating any vibrations and reducing motor noise.
I assume the tape is some sort of double sided expanded polystyrene
mounted between the motor and metal block?
My concern is that that sort of tape is that it tends to break down over
time. (10-20 years)
A better flexible mounting is silicon sealer as used as caulking around
baths etc.
The only problem in using it is to keep the motor reasonably aligned and
separate from the metal while it sets.

If the tape is of some other type and position then ignore all I've
written. ;-)
