Sticky river

I poured the top coat of EnviroTex on Friday night. Most of it turned
out fine. However, one section about eight inches long still has a
sticky feel. It is dry to the touch if you slide a finger across it, but
if you press straight down -- it has a sticky feel to it. It doesn't
hold objects that contact it, a finger doesn't leave prints in it, but
it has that strange feel to it. Does it need more time [48 hours so
far], or will I have to pour another coat on top of it? Or is there
something to apply to clean it up and make it dry like the rest of the
river? BTW, it is no thicker there than in other dry areas.

Don't panic.  I've heard that Envirotex can take up to 72 hours to dry.  A
tip, cover the area with a sheet of plastic until it's cured to keep dust
off.

Still sticky this morning, so I wiped the surface with alcohol.  The
cloth took on a light blue color [I used food coloring to tint the
EnviroTex].  Turned a fan on it.  Three hours later, it is dry and the
sticky feel is gone.  For good, I hope.

Maybe you didn't quite mix that batch well enough. Or added too much tinting
agent?  Or had too much resin and not enough hardener in that batch.

But it looks like you lucked out this time.
