Unfortunately, any reasonable / rational use of security software
renders your magazine pages useless.
I use Zone Alarm Pro to block third party and persistent cookies. Zone
Alarm tells me that your magazine uses both.
I use Spybot to block spyware. Spybot tells me your pages attempt to
download spyware.
Why should you need those technologies?
Why should I let you invade my system?

I have already had an off-list discussion with Jim on this topic and advised
him of the following ...
1. The eMagazines use cookies for ; a) preventing double-counting on the
Hit-Counter, and b) preventing one viewer for voting more than once in any
one Poll/Survey. This surely doesn't constitute unreasonable use of cookies
as it was the type of use that Netscape designed them for in the first
place!
2. I believe his SpyBot software is incorrectly configured or has it's own
inherent faults, as no spyware is involved anyware on the sites. My server
is a brand-new one (I built it and know it's complete history) and has had
Zone Alarm Pro preventing any hacking from before it's first connection to
the internet.
Anyway, it comes down to a personal choice as to whether a model railroad
enthusiast wishes to read these megazines and make use of the free resources
offered - I simply do them as a 'labour of love' because of my own pleasure
gained from HOn30 and On30 modeling. Already, nearly 2000 unique viewers
have had a 'fossick' qround the pages of these magazines, and all reports
(other than Jim's and a few who were running incompatible browsers) have
been very favourable!
Jim seems to be under the misapprehension that there is something dangerous
about cookies per se. In fact, they were a Netscape invention designed to
help web-site developers achieve the type of safeguards for whaich I use
them.
Anyway, take a look at the magazines and decide their usefulness for
yourself!!
