Kato HO Locomotive Question

Does (Did) Kato make both the SD40 and SD40-2 which modeled the
correct differences in length and porch dimensions?  If yes, did they
ever make the SD40 in Southern Pacific paint?  Thanks.

Yes, they made SD40s in Espee paint.
