Well, I got to go flying today after about a month. Did pretty good.
We flew to Lafayette, then to Eunice, and back to base practicing some
instrument procedures. It took about 1.5 hours. We went in the morning and
got back about noon. On the way home I got a call for an oil spill in Lake
Charles. Dan was out at Citgo working with them and the Coast Guard on a
large spill that happened Monday. The cleanup is still ongoing.
I got home about 1:30 PM and was just beat. I probably didn't sleep good
Friday night so I was pretty worn out. I slept 'till 8:30 PM just now and
thought I'd better get up and get some things done in the house. Need to go
to grocery store.
I did get some work done on the patio Friday evening. Stuffed some screen
wire mesh into the water collectors to keep the leaves from compacting
themselves into the water troughs on the top surface.
Cleaning those troughs out with a water hose will just about drown me with
water 'cause I have to stand underneath the access places to apply the
water! But they are all cleaned out now.
So I move on to getting other things done. May get to fly Sunday evening.
Then go on call again Monday morning. I know Dan needs some time off 'cause
he has been out at Citgo for a whole week.
At least all my paperwork at the office is done and the office straightened
up real good.
