What's the difference between porn salesmen and Chinese DVD pirates and
eBay scammers?

NONE.

FOAD, toad.

Amen. FOAD, like the man said.

Please explain to me how posting information about a model train on a
model train group qualifies as spam.  I would characterize it more as
an advert.  Y/N?

I've been asking that for a while... Good luck...

Spam it might be, although it didn't bother me in this venue; but the word
Steve used above was "scammers", not "spammers".  Problem is, I don't see
why Steve thought it was a scam.

Although I know little of old Lionel train sets, it looks like an everyday
eBay auction to me.

Spam like this is showing up in lots of newsgroups (rec.antiques is
another place where it's highly unwelcome), posted by this person or
someone like them.

As someone else here wisely said, if you're looking for stuff on eBay,
it's very easy to find it there. No need for even *more* crap than there
already is in newsgroups.

If I hadn't, I'd have learned in third grade when I heard that joke.

I also know sh.t from Shinola  -  which is enough to put one way ahead of
the mill run NeoCon.
