I'm getting ready to purchase a new 1/4" x 6ft length launch rod... and I
have found a stainless steel annealed type 304 .... for $10....
ANybody have any experience comments suggestions for a 1 piece 6ft x 1/4"
rod? It needsa to be very stiff and rigid....
would a carbon fiber rod work here? as far as being stiffer and more rigid?

TIA

I would suggest going with type 316 stainless. It has far greater resistance
to corrosion and pitting than 304. You can get a 6' length from McMaster
Carr for about $8.

I just picked up a 1/4" x 6' stainless rod at Ace for $6.95.
