Setting
Like all Tex Murphy games, Under a Killing Moon takes place in
post-World War III San Francisco. After the devestating events of
WWIII, many major cities have been rebuilt (as is the case with New
San Francisco), though certain areas still remain as they were before
the war (as in Old San Francisco). WWIII also left another mark on the
world: the formation of two classes of citizens. Specifically, the
Mutants and the Norms. Tensions between the two groups have risen
dramatically since the end of the war, and Norms and Mutants usually
do not get along. The Mutants are usually forced to live in the
run-down areas of cities such as Old San Francisco. Tex lives on
Chandler Ave. in Old San Francisco. All his friends are Mutants,
though he himself is a Norm. Under a Killing Moon takes place in
December 2042.
[edit]
Plot
In Under a Killing Moon you play as Tex Murphy, Private Investigator.
Tex has hit rock bottom. Recently divorced from his wife Sylvia, out
of work, low on cash, and living in a rundown part of Old San
Francisco, Tex realizes that he has to get his act together. Tex sets
out to hunt for work. He finds it quickly once he discovers that the
pawnshop across the street from his apartment has been robbed. Tex
solves the case in no time flat, and feels his luck has begun to
change. Then a mysterious woman calling herself Countess Renier,
having heard good things about Tex, hires him to find her missing
statuette. Everything seems great at first. The Countess is promising
to pay Tex more money than he's seen in his life. But everything
quickly goes downhill when Tex finds himself unwittingly involved in
the affairs of a dangerous cult. Under a Killing Moon has many unique
characters, and stars several well-known actors such as Brian Keith
(The Parent Trap), Margot Kidder (Superman), Russel Means (The Last of
the Mohicans), and the voice of James Earl Jones (Star Wars, The Lion
King)

Gameplay
[edit]
The Virtual World
Under a Killing Moon was the first Tex game to utilize 3D
environments. The player controls Tex from a first person perspective.
The virtual world allows full freedom of movement, and as such allows
the player to look for clues in every nook and cranny. Though it was
not the first game to use 3D environments, it was revolutionary in an
adventure game. To this day, most adventure games don't use 3D
technology to create the game world.
[edit]
Conversations
Under a Killing Moon was the first Tex game to stray from the
traditional adventure game dialogue format of providing options that
showed exactly what your character would say. Instead, descriptions of
the dialogue choices were given, providing some mystery to what Tex
would say.

People were fooled by higher authorities that were motivated by
religion into believing the moon landing. This continues even to this
day!

I told myself I'd never repost to a moon hoax post, but something's making
me today.
Just what the heck does the Vatican has to do with Moon Hoaxes ?
Do you really think the Vatican is like MI 5 like in the movie Van Helsing ?
I guess you think they have their very own Q as well.
<more drivel removed>
I guess a Video Game proves a moon hoax
Tell you what, why don't you pay for some web hosting that contains a blog
and a wiki and start your own little group to while away your time with.
they go for as little as $3.99 a month., and in a little bit you could build
your very own little world.

An excellent idea. With as much material as he puts out, he could have
an interesting blog. And while $3.99 is cheap, he can get free blogging
service everywhere. Original post, http://blogger.com, and keep the
newsgroups clear, thanks :)

Oh, he's already living in his very own little world, and it sounds
like a very sad place.

Brad,
You should know that the game takes its name from the song "The
Killing Moon" by Echo and the Bunnymen. I think you, of all people,
will find some interesting references in the lyrics of their songs.
Just what are they trying to say? And what about the mysterious death
of band member Pete de Freitas? What did he know?
You should also know that a large number of the posters in this
newsgroup are (either publicly or privately) members of the National
Association of Rocketry. This organization has a president who goes
by the name "Mark Bundick" and is known as "Bunny" to his inside
circle. Thus is should be obvious by now why your posts here are
falling upon deaf ears and that there is little reason to continue
posting to this newsgroup.
Brian McDermott - 03 Jan 2006 01:11 GMT
The original poster isn't Brad. He's just some other j.rkoff who is
crossposting his crap to 5 separate newsgroups (check the header in the
first post). These aren't exclusively targeting RMR.
