Thanks to Carl and the Semroc crew for the recent 50% off "Hobby Lobby"
promotion.

I picked up TWO SLS Laser-X kits, the dual mount, quad mount AND an
Aerobee, all for $50 !

Got to love it.

Same here. I placed my order Thursday, there was no mail delivery Sunday or
Monday, and the package was at my door Tuesday. I too have an SLS Laser-X in
my future, and it just jumped to #1 on the build list.

There are no Hobby Lobby's in California, and Michael's only carries
Estes... I am SOOOO left out.  Any way to take advantage of these
rocket sales via the internet?

well, the only "hobby lobby"ish thing about this deal with Semroc was that
it was patterned after Hobby Lobby's 1/2 off sales.  The key was to have
already been an online customer of Semroc before December 15.  Then Semroc
sent out an email to all of their online customers as of that date and gave
them a special "gift certificate" code to use when ordering.

As for actually buying Estes and Quest through Hobby Lobby, I don't think
they have online ordering capability, just a mailing list to notify you
about coupons and sales.  They do have an online entity (Crafts, Etc.) that
has exactly one rocket available (Estes Yankee).

I was an online customer before December 15, but did not receive a "gift
certificate" code via email.   I would have loaded up the 'cart' if I had
been contacted.  My loss.  That said, I have nothing but praise for Semroc
kits.  They are first-rate.

Unfortunately, they were using Bellsouth.net for their smtp server when
they sent out the email in the middle of December.  Bellsouth has some
MAJOR issues with mail sent through their smtp server either getting
delayed by a number of days, or disappearing altogether.  Semroc has
since switched to an internal SMTP server after I brought this to their
attention and now all is well with their outbound mail.  I'd contact
Carl and let him know you never got the Christmas special message.  He
may still honor the special to you.  It can't hurt to ask!

I think there is going to be a lot of people flying SLS Laser-X's around the
country this Spring...and I intend to be one of them.
