Gus Grisson, Ed White, and Roger Chaffee lost their lives in the fire on
the pad 40 years ago, on January 27, 1967, during the 'plugs out' test
of their Apollo spacecraft. This was to be the last major test before
their flight.
I visited the pad last year. There's a nice plaque there. It's a
lonely place out there, but you could almost *feel* the history.
Too few remember.

May they rest in peace, they did not go in vain.

If I ever get a chance to go back to the USA I would like to visit Kennedy
Space Center... never been there before.
