I have a couple of military cargo chutes but they may be bigger than you
request. They are also built very sturdy and not all that light. I'll
measure the diameter and get back.

My smallest one has a collapsed radius of 5 feet. Probably an 8 foot canopy
or so. Not too heavy, nylon or maybe silk I can't tell I'm not a tailor.

Why not use two samaller chutes? I have two 28 ft diameter military surplus
chutes with 28 shrode lines still in the original packing bags. I have used
these same chutes on seveal projects over 300 lbs and they are very
reliable. I like using two chute just in case one snags. If your interested

Are you looking for 32 to 48 inch (as implied by the ") or 32 to 48
foot?  32 to 48 inch parachutes can be had at multiple places (PML,
LOC, etc) but 32 to 48 foot parachutes are harder to come by.  I'd use
multiple 28 foot parachutes from Aeroconsystems for something in that
size.
