Over on ABMR I posted a picture of a yellow and white rocket, on a
launch pad in my back yard; a rocket I just finished painting base color
scheme, (trim to follow). The rocket was designed around an old Loc
Magnum payload section that had been converted for 2 stage deployment,
(bottom section died from a motor cato), two 25" LOC cut off sections,
Performance Rocketry upscale Fat Boy fiberglass nose cone, 3" motor
mount and four elliptical fins. I want to call it Elliptical Junk, but
after getting it all put together, it kind of reminds me of an old Estes
or Centeri kit, but for the life of me can't remember which one. Help me
out fellows..

I'm sure he doesn't, (or anyone else for that mater), need a special
invitation to provide something constructive..(:-)

It reminds me of the Estes Sprint.

I think Darrell is making a reference to a rocket of mine that has a
rounded nose cone but it doesn't have elliptical fins.

I could never get as far as the fins, the nose cone gave me the shivers. 8-)

Sounds like the Estes Sprint except that the Sprint only had 3 fins

Thought about the Sprint, but the fins are only simi-eliptical, (or
whatever they call it), has a boat tail, and like you say, has only
three fins. Maybe it's all in a dream I had. Some of us do dream about
rockets..(:-)
