Seeing as how having some post to cleanse the palate with might be a
good idea I thought to post a starter thread re: not Model Rockets but
Models OF Rockets.
How many folks either have, built, or maybe just covet (OK, admire)
some rockets because they are beautiful in and of themselves?
Comes to mind the cover art of the old Tintin book about a trip to the
moon;

There are others of course-
Most of the Star Trek ships have had some redeeming value, and lately
with the foreshadowing of the 1st three Star Wars chapters showing a
very mature Republic having it's art spill over into utilitarian
things like transportation (notice the Naboo ships?), well there are
some very nice lift bodies there.
Of course there are some ships that seem to need a little help like
the one in 'the Day the Earth Stood Still", very minimal, functional
but all the goodness was on the inside. (I suppose that reflects the
owners/builder, eh?)
And then again too are the ships from another medium like the sub from
'Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" for example.
What are some of these classic ships that you remember, and maybe even
have an example of?

I've got some fictional rockets on my "to do" list for someday -- Buck
Rogers's fighter from the comic strip in the 1930s (the strip had a
very nice cutaway of it once) and the Vulture from the Salvage I Andy
Griffith TV series are right up at the top of the list.
Hey, looking up the name of the rocket, it turns out Estes almost put
out a model of it!

I have always been a fan of Chesley Bonestell's rocket ships.
They were amazingly futuristic in their day, but even now that they're
"dated" they still look retro-liciously artistic. The Space Ark, I think, was
the coolest looking rocket ship ever conceived, despite - or maybe even
because of - its simplistic design.

This looks like a Model of Rockets, and artistic
