This is NOT going to be accomplished by us average guys. We just do not have
the funds.NASA tried to do it in 1969 but had to settle for a location in
the Desert.
But it does sound like fun

It'll be interesting to see what organizations take this project on.  It's a
big 'un!

And in rmr I hear there is talk about Freddie boi putting a 4" diam U
S Rockets  "STUB" up his backside just to prove he is a real man and
can take it. Then for the grand finale he is gonna have Stealthbooguie
light off a J motor  and see if he can get it up just a little bit
further.

As like in "orbit"? Which is quite different than just reaching space.
Which is an order of magnitude different than navigating to & landing
on the moon.

I sorta agree but......

back then computers were million dollar affairs that took up rooms and
needed their own cooling systems, and still couldn't play Halo.

now admittedly, not all technology has advanced like computers has,
but I see a lot of potential for advancement compared to 69.

computers
composites
less redundancy-more reliability
radio gear.
standardized subsystems(less custom work)

a lot of this will make things lighter, therefore less fuel, which
makes things even more lighter, which means even LESS fuel......

you do know that you can get composite tubes(in stock) in 73" in
diameter? a 103% scale redstone isnt impossible. a lunar shot should
just take some more work.

but still a boatload of money.

But can Freddie still use it as a dildo............thats the main
thing..........computers be damed.

NASA and I have something in common.
Neither of us has been to the moon since
the sixties and seventies.
