Luckily real life is nothing like RMR.  Had a nice morning at the field with
other friendly rocketeers.  We flew, talked about our projects and not a
single insult or profanity was exchanged.  The kids had a good time and the
parents were thankful for another day of wholesome, educational activities
for their flocks.

Life is good.

Anybody else do some flying today?

No flying, but I'm doing some building today, a Spaceship One
semi-scale (scratch-build), to fly with my nephew next weekend.

Today our first launch of the season just got cancelled because of rain

Uh huh.......Freddie routinely gets a rooter rooting of his backside
to keep him regular. Ted or Darrell or maybe it was David B seem to be
the ones always lining up to do the rooting...just like hogs at a
trough!

No sweat, no one want to see your pics  of getting it up the old chute
there Eekamouse.  Now why don't you and the others go back to that
circle jerk you all love so much since the pivot man Freddie  Boi
Wallace is ready and chomping at the bit to get it going!

We held our annual build & fly class at the local park distric this morning.
Unfortunately we had to cancel the flying portion due to the wind, but we had 7
kids build rockets and hopefully the weather will cooperate in the near future
and they'll be able to fly their rockets, and we will be able to do so as well.

Well, yeah.  I headed out with my 9 yr old son and 7 yr old daughter for
the first launches in a while, my son with an Estes "Dragonite' model he
built lat year, my daughter with a 'Mosquito' I built for her from
scratch, and me with another small scratch-built I made to test engines.
     Eight successful flights, in all.

I'm just revisiting this group after a long absence... Is there
someplace online where mature (as in, people who act older than 6) RMR
people hang out nowadays?  RMR doesn't seems to be the place (present
thread excepted).

Not sure I'd include newtons3rd in that list.  But I would add

Why wouldn't you add Newtons 3rd?

Sure it is unmoderatred, but a lot of veteran fliers there

Well, haven't been there for quite some time, so maybe it's changed.
But when I was all there seemed to be there were a bunch of 6 year olds
calling each other names.

Are you sure that rocketryforum.com fits definition of "mature"?  It
seems you must be a teenager to post there, and the moderators will
delete you if call one of the teenagers on bogus claims... (or NAR, for
that matter!)

I agree
