Wow. Posts about rockets instead of B. G*th's raging against reality.

I suppose I should help....

Does anyone know if Estes plans to offer C5s again? I haven't flown my
old LTV Scout in years.

And what's this C11? Sounds like a cool motor, but I don't know what
I'd use it for. Perhaps to spank a heavy one off the pad a lil'
quicker? Kinda like a B14 for the modern era? <g>

And where on earth does someone find BP lower stage engines these
days? Grrr.

lapsed NAR, but back soon...

Maybe we all should.

Question keeps coming up. I've never even heard a rumour of it's
return.

You know it's a 24mm diameter motor? It's more of a D12-lite. It'll
get your heavy 24mm motor-mounted motors off the pad, but they won't
go very high.

You'll struggle for a8-0s, a10-0s though :(

I didn't know it was 24mm. Ouch. I suppose it's made for some of their
RTF? Or to finally keep my ol' Black Brandt inside the field...

Head on up to Braselton next week for SoAR's first launch at the newly
re-acquired launch site (don't know if you'd dropped out before then,
but that's where we flew for 2002-2003.

C11's came out with a splash about six or seven years ago, 0,3,5, and
7 delays, but within a year Estes pulled back to only offering the
C11-3.  It is a 24mm motor, a lighter alternative for old rockets like
the Black Brant (but only for those of us who stocked up on C11-7),
that can't be flown on a D12 without considerable risk of loss.

No, Estes doesn't plan on C5 or B8.  The new Chinese-made Quest
motors, though marked C6, apparently have characteristics similar to
the B8 and C5.  High peak thrust and long lower tail.  They still have
lots of their German made B6 motors, though, so we'll have to wait on
Chinese B6 motors.

Both Estes and Quest are back to selling B6-0 motors, but you won't
find anything lower except the A10-0t.

Roy G.? Is that you? It's Jay R. (ex-SoAR #21). I did check out the
ol' SOAR website, and saw that y'all are flying within high-power
drifting distance of the racetrack I used to drive on (Road Atlanta).
<g> I'm working for the next few weekends....but I'm sure tired of
flying on postage stamps. Perhaps you'll see me back before too
long. ;)
