As I mentioned before, I have a chance to buy LOTS of Estes engines.
What is a good price for Estes engines (various types) and where do
you buy them?
Thanks

Believe it or not, but WAL-MART actually sells them for a decent
price, but usually they are heavily picked through. Where I live A's
and B's are usually picked out first, leaving a lot of C's, they also
have mini engines too.

Even though I'm not a big fan of Wal-Mart, the last time I was in there they
had A, B and C engines for about $3.00. This is for a flight pack of 3
engines which includes recovery wadding. I found some at a Target once for
a little cheaper, but I think they were on sale to get rid of them and don't
carry them any longer.

You have need to buy motors because of a large project such as a
school program, and you need to find a source? Or you have a source
and need to know what good prices are?
For new motors, 5-6 bucks / pack for A-B-C is a pretty good price.
8-9$ for D's and 11-12$ for E's. I like www.acsupplyco.com . They
sell Estes and cater to educators.
If you already have a source, such as someone's large collection, and
want to know what to pay...well, it depends. But 3 bucks a pack is a
good number. If they're rare (eg, B14's, 1/2A3-0s', etc) , that could
go up, but if they're ordinary A-B-C motors readily available at the
hobby store, then 1-3 dollars per pack. Maybe start at 1$ and
negotiate up with a max of 3$.
I could be all wet, but that's my take on it.

I usually cut out the 50% coupon in the newspaper and buy a bulk pack
from Michael's.
