Having just recovered from "I was out shopping with my mother and we saw
.......... a suite on sale for £1800 !!!" How many brownie points would I
gain if I agreed to the purchase. Would the decorating go on hold for at
least another year ? Could I brazenly purchase that Dave Patrick Ultimate
and a new Saito engine? Or am I just being delusional and SWMBO will get all
her way?
Incidentally the suite is a horrible colour and I have said so but do prefer
an alternative colour, viewing again next Thursday!!!

New suite means new curtains means new carpet means new decoration means no
money or time left for Ultimates or Saito's etc. Unless - - -
SWMBO agrees to you matching the £1800.00 spend on yourself (Ultimate, Saito
etc etc), but I wouldn't have the guts to suggest that in my(?) house!!!
Good Luck mate.
Paul M (who has just finished decorating etc etc and hasn't got the money or
strength to build a new Ultimate with Saito etc etc and God help me if I
tread in any more Balsa Dust).

IME no brownie points at all.
It will just be 'that was easy, and at least it didn't get spent on
those stupid toy planes'
I'd hang fire. This Xmas looks like being the retailers worst nightmare:
Wait for the sales.
Or look into Ebay or auction houses. Stuff going for a song .

Sorry, but if you haven't figured it out yet, you never will! You can spend
all but your last fiver on her and that last fiver will be set aside for her
later. No Dave Patrick Ultimate. No Saito.
Getting married means giving up the motorcycle, the fishing boat, the night
out with the boys, model airplanes, etc. Unless she happens to like those
things, too (fat chance of that!)

How long have you been married? Zero points is the correct answer. It
merely becomes the new base point.

Silly boy; no!

Your judgement in these matters means nought, like ours!
