As iv known it mentioned before but as we seem to getting screwed one
way or the other for silly rules that i wasnt aware of, im interested
in whats included blah blah or excluded for what ever reason..i.e.
"yave been a member for 3 years so its a fiver cheaper". "Yave got
ya A test so its X amount less.

Email me direct guys as i dont want to choke up the news group.

I hardly think you will 'choke up' this newsgroup with replies! I'd also be
really interested to know what other people are paying

We are paying £80 for our annual membership, this includes BMFA insurance.
This is, I think, the third year we have not had an increase in club fees
with only the BMFA part of the fee increasing. We have a concession for
OAP's (£72) and Juniors (£47). We own our licensed flying field and have a
clubhouse and many other facilities on site. At just over a quid a week it
is remarkable good value.

From talking to members of other clubs it would appear that we are £20 less
than other clubs in the area. (Luton & District MAS)

We don't have any 'stunts' on our membership, although it has been tried
several times. One was a tenner extra if you didn't want to attend the work
parties. The other recent one was a £6 reduction if you took your
Newsletter/club news by e-mail rather than by post. Both of these did not
get passed at  AGM's.

Cheers

We did have to put up with a £2 increase last year, bringing
membership upto £22.00 including insurance - beauty of not being BMFA.
Only a few moaners!!

We can fly 24/7 no restrictions other than it is _preferred_ non-A
cert's are on buddy lead/supervised.

Mine is £50 + BMFA. Hasn't gone up for at least 5 or 6 years,
discounts for OAPs / juniors / family - don't know how much as I don't
fit into any of those groups. For that we get access to 4 flying
sites, 3 of which have facilities (caravan / porta-cabin / shipping
container). We have to attend a minimum of 6 evening meetings (held
fortnightly at a local social club), 2 of which must be satefy
meetings. The club also subsidises an annual dinner dance.

Membership used to be free if you helped out at our annual show, but
this was stopped a couple of years back due to some people taking the
mickey - turn up and stand around talking for a hour and then claim
that they helped. The stopping of the free membership didn't bother me
as I think that every member who is physically able, should help out
at the show. All that is asked is 2 hours once a year - not much
really considering what the club does for the members!

Ok, thats the moaning bit over with.

In general, a damn good club.

Ian.
