Hi All,
What are the GWS 8ch receivers like for everyday use? is the range OK? I'm
just building a trainer for my 10 yeqr old and havn't got a spare RX to put
in it. The local shop has some of the above at a reasonable price but I've
only ever used GWS RX's (4ch) in Park Fliers where range isn't a problem.
Please don't suggest eBay as things go for stupid prices where you don't
know the history. Any comments on the RX's very welcome.

Been using them on all sorts of models and (touch wood) they've never let me
down.
As with any receiver generally the smaller that it is physically the greater
the compromise in design (fewer tuned circuits and other components). So
don't expect necessarily the same performance as from a full sized futaba,
JR etc but for everyday use I would use one.

I have been using two for several years. No range problems with my planes
(trainer and E-powered sailplane).

Thanks Paul
I can now proceed with making a purchase safe in the knowledge I'll be able
to fly to the extent of my poor sight :^).
Thanks also for past superb service for bearings for my shuttle :^)

They are as good as any. Only reservation is that on electric (particularly
brushless) you may need a better receiver to mask the glitches such as a
Schulze.

My experience with Shulze and I only have subjective observations to go on
is that they are similar to GWS but give you a count of the glitches they
have detected. My feeling is that counting the glitches is a bit
superfluous.

No, they replace any gaps in the signal and have a lesser fail safe
function. On my brushless setup only a Schulze or (for twice the money) a
PCM receiver is flyable.
