Has anybody bought any plans from this EBay shop in the USA.

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-AIRPLANE-PLANS

I am fancying the Sopwith Triplane, which I have not been able to find
kitted anywhere, but would like some advice on how good the instructions
are.

As it says plans and not kit I wouldn't expect there to be anything more
than very rudimentary instructions if any. Plans are usually just that, and
expect the builder to have the experience to understand them. If you wish to
buy them and havn't got the knowledge to build it you could always find
someone in your local club to impart some wisdom your direction. (That is of
course unless you belong to one of those clubs where everyone has "bought"
into the hobby.)

He has a very poor feedback rating, and they all say much the same thing.
I wouldn't touch him.

I emailed him asking for postage to the UK, and I have not had a reply,
which looks like his main problem apart from a few none posts or missing
posts, so I will not be buying anything

Shame because I do fancy a big Sopwith Triplane.

How long since you emailed him? Perhaps he's away or not in his office for
the w/e?

Paypal is very robust, so very unlikely indeed you will loose your money.

His feedback is ~95%. Another way of saying it is 19 out of 20 you will get
your plans with no problems anyhow.

But if it was me, I would have set up Outlook to auto reply to queries to
say something like 'Back on Monday', and it seems some of his feedback could
have been easily avoided... Doesn't mean that the plans are u/s though.

Pretty bad odds when most E-Bay traders have ratings of 99.8 or better. I
would not deal with the guy unless last resort.

Sorry all,
Outlook express threw a wobbly with me and instead of removing my post from
the outbox when sent, left it there to send again and again!
Humble apologies
