So did anyone go to the show this year? I went yesterday (Saturday). The
weather was sunny for most of the day, although it did cloud over a bit in
the afternoon. The trade stands looked like they were doing a great trade,
with lots of people swarming over the stuff looking for the last few bargins
of the season. Although I didn't see Al's Hobbies there this year even
though they were down on the list of traders. Inwoods tent looked like
slightly organised chaos, and some stands were selling out of things (YT
International for one). I only picked up a couple of small items I was
after - no models this year . The stands seemed to be a little more spaced
out this year, and I managed to find the Bring & Buy sale for the first
time.
The flying displays were a joy to see, and this year there were 2 full size
displays (only been one in past years). Some great flying from the display
teams (there were 13 Cambrian Fun-Fighters in the air on one display) and
the club members. A nice mixture of Jets, Warbirds, 3D displays, etc..
The little one (2 years old) enjoyed the day too. Although he seemed more
keen in looking at the boats and cars than the planes. I sure that will
change over time . Bought him a small (30cm) EPP glider and he has had fun
throwing that around the field and back garden, so there's a chance hell be
converted . He also seemed to enjoy that tanks that were there too.
Worth a visit if you've never been before. I thought this year was the best
of the last 3 years.
