My new and not quite run in yet ST61 ring engine is being an absolute
pig-the first couple of tankfulls ran ok, but next time I came to run
it it wouldn't fire. Plug after plug was blowing, the compression is so
low that my 2 year old son can turn it over, there is a nastly 'click'
at TDC and when it does run, it's a lumpy as my wife's porridge........
Are these common problems, or do I have a 'rogue' engine?
And yes, I have follwed the instructions to the letter-correct fule,
plugs etc etc...
TIA

And bearings.  Frequently blowing plugs is a symptom of metal debris hitting
the plug.  I have no experience of ST engines but with OS 50 heli engines,
if you're blowing plugs then 99.99% of the time your rear main bearing is
starting to disintegrate.  So I'd say you are certainly on the brink of a
mechanical catastophe.  Don't run the engine again until you have rectified
the cause - otherwise you stand a *very* good chance of  wrecking the whole
engine.
