And they are rather proud of it pricewise, but when nothing else will work
stabilit express will.  It will glue butter to wax paper.  :-)

Subject: Re: Help! Pattex 2 part resin

The instructions as on the box are:
Properties:

High strength up to 25N/mm sq. (= 250 kp/cm sq.) after approx.
1 hour. Fast setting, strength after approx. 20 minutes at room temperature
is up to 15 N/mm sq. (= 150 kp/cm sq.). Gap filling capabilities, equals
differences in material surfaces. The bonding is resistant for a
temperature range of -20° C to +80° C. Highly resistant against water, fuel
and fuel mixtures, oil, grease, thinned acids and thinned bases.
Use range:

Pattex Stabilit Express is a fast hardening two-component glue that can be
used to level material surface differences. Usable for bonding stone,
plastics, ceramics, wood, metal and more. Not suitable for polyethylene,
polypropylene, Teflon [PTFE], soft PVC and polyamides.
Directions for use:
The surfaces to bond must be clean, dry and degreased (if necessary,
cleaned with Acetone or similar). To enhance the bonding of Metal and
plastics, the surfaces should be rough. Put the appropriate amount of
hardener (powder) in the depressions (1 spoon measure in the small, 3
measures in the medium or 5 measures in the big) and fill the mixing bowl
flush with the resin from the tube. Mix with the pointed end of the spatula
until an even mixture is
achieved. Apply this glue thinly and evenly to the contact area of both
parts you want to bond together. Attach both parts and clamp until the
initial bond strength is reached (approx. 20 minutes), using tape or a
clamp.
The mixed amount of resin and hardener should be used within 10 minutes.
Residues can easily be removed from the mixing bowl after the glue is
fully set (apply pressure from the bottom of the bowl).
Store the product in a cool place. Product may be frozen for storage.
Avoid storing temperatures above 30°C.
Attention! Must not be handled by children!
I have used Stabilit Express on some occasions and it really does
everything the company promises. If you intend to bond plastic and metal,
you really should provide a rough surface for the glue to "claw in". And do
use it
only in a well-ventilated area, otherwise you will get a headache - it
stinks as
well as it bonds!

Okay, thsnks both . I'll get some then!

Just bought a Graupner Pit electric glider and it calls for this glue, but I
thought i'd use an equivalent ONCE I knew what it was!!  I'll the stab expr
now though.

Incidentally, the Pit was less than 30 quid... I also have a Canary by the
same company and it's well under 30 quid too! bargain.

Tom,

Thanx for the translation of the Stabilit instructions. Not speaking any
Deutsche, I was all set to find a German keyboard, transcribe the
instructions to the keyboard, copy/paste the text to a translation site, and
fully expect the "results unpredictable" from my effort. GOOGLEd "stabilit
express english" and Voila! found your post. Thanx again.  Buck Wheat, Dillon,
