I notice Aldi is selling 1 litre Air compressor oil, and 1 litre Air line
lubricating oil for £3.49 each.

Is this the same stuff as often recommended for after run oil for IC
engines?

Our friends across the pond refer to "Marvel air compressor oil" or sumsuch

I've used plain old automatic trans fluid for years, with nary a problem...

Do you use it straight, or do you thin it? And if so, what do you thin it
with please?

Thanks

Right out of the bottle, just as it is....it's pretty thin to begin with.
Generally I just fill a small squeeze bottle with it rather than lug a quart
bottle around.

C.F. Lee, the engine Guru, recommends a 50/50 mix of transmission fluid and
air tool oil be used for storage of engines -- using air tool oil as a
after-run.
Cheers again -- Lyman

Trefor --
The after-run oft recommended here in the Colonies is "Marvel Air Tool
Oil" -- it's basically Marvel Mystery Oil with an anti-rusting agent added.
If the product you mentioned is for use in tools that are powered by
compressed air, then I'd fell it safe to say it would be OK for our model
engines.

Cheers -- Lyman

Hi,

I myself use Protech "After Run In Oil". Only costs me about £3 a small
container from www.Heliguy.com

I use 2 stroke oil as an after run oil in my Saito and OS 4 strokes. Seems
to work OK although they are a bit smokey first start of a session.

Yes, I have been using a mixture of paraffin (kerosine) and 2-stroke oil for
many years, but there are some concerns with using motor oils.
