Hi all

I am building a Zaggi at the moment, has any put a "keel" into one to make
launching it easier ?

If you have what material did you use, or what would you sugest.

I would use some ABS plastic sheet.  That stuff is real tough and just about
any glue will stick to it after you rough it up a bit.

You can make one big fin that the wing slides into at the rear/centre of the
wing - that way you don't keep losing the wing-tip fins which you don't
need, and you can launch by holding the section of the fin under the
fuselage... 'swat we did anyway..

Instead of a keel, why not consider putting two finger holes in the bottom
of the wing on or about, the CofG? They will not interfere with the landing
either. I always launched mine by flicking it overhand from the nose, or if
its the elecric version, by placing a finger either side of the motor,
giving it a good heave ho, & switching the motor on, after it has left the
finger zone. Ray

That's the way I do it.

Me too, really mashed my fingers up once though on one of the first flights,
before i'd got used to it - dangling transmitter brushed against me,
throttle full. fingers repeatedly battered, plenty of blood. My Zagi's first
real flight was powered by pure anger, flew very well!

I just used a piece of correx. A piece about 3 ins long and about 3in
wide. Split it so that you end up with a  T  shape then tape the two
sides of the top of the  T  to the bottom of the zagi.

Drill a couple of holes in the correx and you can dangle some fishing
weights underneath as ballast.

On very windy days I have 3/4 lb of spoon shaped sea fishing weights
hanging below the zagi.... just make sure you keep the centre of
gravity point in the right place.

The piece of correx is very tough and makes it easy to hand launch the
zagi even in very windy conditions. Duct tape holds it on very securely.
My bit of correx has been stuck on for over 2 years now.
