Hello all,
I am putting together material to build the 1/12th scale River Queen
from Vic Smeed's drawing.
The March issue of Engineering in Miniature, had a pleasant surprise
in the form of an article on just this boat.
The writer mentioned two articles on water level and gas control
systems he wrote about in the following UK magazines:
Radio Control Boat Modeller - Nov/Dec 1988 and
Model Boats - Nov 1989 respectively.
Does anyone have a copy they can scan for me, or point me in the right
direction to make these controllers please?
Regards

LOL
Smart-arse!
There's always one isn't there :-))
Definitely, and the broad as well, courtesy Hobby's 1/12th scale model
house items plus a few other items as well.
Wouldn't dream of launching a boat without someone on board to look
after the fire and steam, and the other to add glamour.
What good a steam boat without occupants?

I take it that one of the propeller blades needs to be forge welded together
with a couple of matches and a pebble?

No, No, No.
Off the shelf from the same supplier.
Life's just too short to teach the little 'uns the art of forging.
Err, why only one?

You'll have to see the film to answer that one!

Mark answered this on.
I saw the film too long ago to remember, but it does ring a bell.

To be fair I read the book years before I saw the film. The imagery in the
book was far superior to that in the film But then it always is.
