I have a small 3 inch Burned Chuck. It has a knurled outer edge with four
holes and the back is hollow with a stub thread for fitting into a mandrel.
The dia of the stub appears to be 0.934 inch. What I am after is the
manufacturers spec for the thread so that I can make a mandrel for this
chuck and hence use it on my dividing head. Any suggestions please.

The back of a chuck is usually independent of the rest of it,
and it is a matter of fitting the chuck to your lathe!

ISTR that lathes.co.uk has a table of common lathe spindles.

I suspect this will be 15/16" as this is nearest to 0.934" than a likely
near metric dimension.
You should be able to measure the pitch.
Remember that the thread on the chuck is only there to hold it on the
mandrel. There should be a pair of surfaces used as registers to keep it
aligned with the lathe mandrel.
Consider making a ring or plug gauge (as appropriate) for these dimensions
to make the job easier.

Good luck

Thanks for the info. I have since found out that it should have had a
manufacturers backplate attached to this stub.
