Has anyone tried using carbide wood router bits on steel? Any reason why
they should be different from carbide milling cutters in use? land and face
rake angles maybe different or non existent?

Yes they break very easily.
Rake angles are too sharp and the dig in very easily.
Carbide grade seems very brittle but don't know what the differences

I have used router cutters on Aluminium with good success thought.
