The title says it all really, the only slight hiccup is that I am in
perth (not perth scotland) so postage might be a touch expensive, but
thats a minor detail if anyone has one for sale ...

Would that be a different device to the rack operated tailstock
attachment still listed in the Myford catalogue?

Yes. The lever operated attachment is just exactly that - it is
operated by a lever. The rack operated one is operated via a rack.

I'm afraid I don't have one, but suggest G&M Tools, Penyfarthing
Tools, The Toolbox (Colyton) or Home and Workshop Machinery
(Footscray) as potential sources of used Myford stuff. The current
Myford price list puts it at £268.68 imc VAT + carriage.

Recently I just missed a couple of s/h 9" faceplates from the used
tool dealers in the £45- £50 + VATprice range - I was pleasantly
surprised to discover that Myford's price for a brand new one was only
£55 + VAT - bulked up the order withsome other spares and consumables
and carriage added £10 to the bill.

Good luck.....

John Tanner and I put Martin Cleeve's Skew Rack Tailstock( for the ML7)
onto the mlathemods4 site.

OK, this is for the ML7 and the S7 has a different tailstock.
With both machines in my workshop, it would not be unduly difficult to
do a modified design.

In addition to this, there is a lot of additional info in the Yahoo
groups which may be of interest.

Pass - not sure whats the difference ? The animal I am looking for
allows to better control with small drills and faster insertion &
removal of the drill, especially usefull with deep holes etc ..

Thanks

Paul

Another posted mentioned one on another site, could you provide a URL ?

Try Minitech in Brisbane - http://www.minitech.com.au/ - they are the Myford
agents here. Nice people to deal with, & very helpful. They sometimes have used
stuff in stock too.

Paul,
I'm now building a tailstock lever drilling attachment for my Myford S7
from
the Chris Heapy drawing here:
http://kansai.anesth.or.jp/gijutu/kousaku/easyweb.easynet.co.uk/chrish/plans.htm
and pics here:

A Jacobs # 0 or #1 chuck can be mounted.
A nice little project.
